A lovely Oxford die-cast model of the quirky little Messerschmitt K200 Bubble top. Messerschmitt were temporarily not allowed to produce aircraft, so turned their skills to producing other products. Fritz Fend was an aircraft designer who had produced invalid carriages. He approached Messerschmitt with this design and it was produced from 1955 to 1964. It was an instant success with 200 being produced in the first year. and over 30,000 being built in total. The car had a four speed gearbox, but reverse was obtained by turning the ignition key in the other direction making the engine run in reverse. So it actually had four gears in reverse as well!
